Project Description
keep me company. runs on the logic ELIZA used in 1966: classify what comes in, match it to a scripted line, nothing more. Borrowed directly: input is sorted into a handful of categories, each mapped to a pool of pre-written responses, the way ELIZA matched keywords to transformation rules. What's added: no parsing of meaning at all, and a hidden mood value — continuous, cumulative, quietly decaying — that ELIZA never had, giving the page something closer to a memory. The question underneath it: if something responds to everything you do, every time, without ever understanding any of it, is that companionship — or a very convincing imitation of one?
